Every year on the news, I’d see all these ducks having fun in the water, but never quite understood what the party was about. Turns out you can “adopt” a yellow rubber ducky for $5, or a QuackPack of six for $25, with proceeds going towards support of the Foundation for Positively Kids. This organization focuses on providing healthcare to children in Clark County, with emphasis on medically fragile, medically dependent, foster community, and developmentally delayed children.
This year’s Las Vegas Lucky Duck Family Festival will be held at Town Square (6605 S. Las Vegas Blvd.) on September 13th, from noon-4 p.m. During the Festival, “adopted ducks” will be plucked from the Town Square pond – if your duck is plucked, you’ll win a prize – the top three prizes: 1st place = $2,000; 2nd place = $1,000; 3rd place= $500. Other prizes include gift cards, tickets, jewelry, and gift baskets.
